Introduction to Data Analysis
In this chapter we will investigate how to use widely available software
to answer this question, in the process unlocking a rich and easy-to-use
data analysis tool that most computer users can access. Data science
really is at your fingertips with the modern spreadsheet program, and this
chapter will show you how to utilize these gems of technology.

This chapter introduces the idea of statistical significance, which I would have liked to dedicate more space to. As an applied Maths and Social Science graduate the mathematics of significance are very elegant and logical, but not especially accessible to beginners and not particularly relevant to the journey this book is taking you. Knowing about significance is important, and as you pass from Beginner to Adept it is something you will need to know more about. So, when you finish the book, if you are interested in going further I urge you to get on Google and dig more deeply into statistical significance.
